Cyber Security Awareness Week

Cyber security is an issue that should be on the agenda of every business, large or small.  The threats are becoming ever more sophisticated, and the frequency of attacks is increasing.

To help local businesses tackle this issue head on in February 2017, we launched ‘Cyber Security Awareness Week’ (CSAW) – a week long programme of informative briefings, networking opportunities and advice sessions to help South West businesses get to grips with the issues and know what to do to mitigate against them.

Over 200 people joined us over five days to hear from a diverse range of speakers including Bluegrass, Datto, ESET, Lloyds Bank, Microsoft, South West Regional Cyber Crime Unit and Stephens Scown.

The feedback was so positive that we plan to make this a regular annual event and host other, smaller refresher events outside of the main awareness week. Our next cyber security awareness event will be a three-day roadshow in September. Over the course of three days, we will be visiting Truro, Plymouth and Exeter to deliver a one-day programme of practical advice and information sessions.
